Complying with Alcohol Sales Regulations

By: Import User
Updated: January 7, 2009
Its illegal to sell alcoholic beverages to anyone under the age of 21. Joplin Police are making sure local businesses comply with the regulation. Officers recently conducted compliance checks on all businesses holding retail liquor licenses in the city. Of 111 stores checked, 39 retail liquor outlets failed. Those businesses have since been cited for selling alcoholic beverages to minors. The Joplin Police Department received funding to help defray the cost of the compliance check program from the Missouri Youth/Adult Alliance Against Underage Drinking.
