Updated: January 7, 2009
At a special school board meeting, the Joplin school board voted unanimously to accept the resignation of Joplin High School Principal Keith Willis. The resignation came as a bit of a surprise as Willis has only been the principal for the last year and a half. In the resignation letter written to the school board, Willis did not site a reason for the resignation. Joplin Superintendent Jim Simpson sites personnel issues. Willis has only been the high school principal for the last year and a half. As he has overseen the current construction project his shoes will be hard to fill. Willis could not be reached for comment. His resignation will go into effect July 31st.
