Police Officer Resigns

By: Import User
Updated: January 7, 2009
An officer accused of driving his police car while intoxicated has officially stepped down. 41-year old Doyle Patton submitted his resignation back on January 25th. That was two days after Patton was taken into custody by the highway patrol for allegedly driving under the influence. Last night the Goodman City County formally accepted Pattons resignation. That won`t leave the police department short staffed though. A spokesperson for the city says a reserve officer has been promoted to full time to take Pattons place. Patton`s problems may not yet be over. He could still face disciplinary action from a state oversight organization for officers.
