An area sheriff`s department is asking for your help in finding a burglary suspect. Deputies say the suspect broke into a house about three miles east of Carthage this morning. Deputies with the Jasper County Sheriff`s Department are looking for a white male between the ages of 18 and 22. He`s 6 foot to 6 foot three, weighing 160 pounds, with a goatee and mustache. He was last seen wearing a gray, hooded sweatshirt and green camouflage pants. They say the homeowner was held briefly at gunpoint after confronting the burglar, who had stolen a rifle from inside the house. After letting the hostage go, the suspect reportedly left in an early to mid 1990`s red, 4-door small car, with Kansas or Oklahoma plates. Deputies say the homeowner got another gun and gave chase, firing at the suspect and following him into Carthage, where he got away. If you have any information on this case, please call the Jasper County Sheriff`s Department at 417-358-8177.
