Construction near a Four State cemetery has some local residents concerned about the safety of the area. Two years ago, the city of Joplin sold land near Osborne Cemetery to DJ Christie Construction for business development. Now with the project in full swing, Joplin Public Works Director Harold McCoy says some residents are afraid construction is threatening a nearby gravesite. McCoy says a stone wall is being erected to establish a barrier between the two sites. McCoy also says landscaping will be added to separate the business complex from the cemetery.
