Sharon Carpino Case Thrown Out of Court

By: Import User
Updated: January 7, 2009
Evidence is suppressed in the case of a former Four State elected official. Sharon Carpino`s written statement and the search of her home were all thrown out in the case against her. She faces drug charges in connection with the evidence officers say they gained during that search and interrogation. The judge in the case says officers lied to Carpino and even went so far as to tell her what to write in her written confession. The two officers who conducted the questioning no longer work for the Cherokee County Sheriff`s Department. The state maintains its position that while the procedures followed may not have been perfect, the statement from Carpino was not forced.
