Updated: January 7, 2009
A new curfew ordinance in one Four State community means teenagers will now have to check their clocks to get home on time. The ordinance was voted on during a meeting of Miami Oklahoma City council members Monday night. The curfew prohibits minors under the age of 18 from being in public between the hours of midnight and 6:00am Sunday through Thursday and 1:00am and 6:00am Friday and Saturday. Due to a special provision, the ordinance went into effect Tuesday morning at midnight, in order to give teens time to get used to the change before the spring and summer months.
