Commander Hounschell Acts as Interim

Chief Ed Dennis will have his last day on the job this Friday, but it could still be some time before someone new is named to chief`s position. In the meantime, Commander Hounschell of the Joplin Police Department will hold the position. While Hounschell is excited about the new opportunity, he says because he is an interim chief he doesn`t expect to make any major policy changes. Hounschell has over two decades of law enforcement experience. Most of it has been with the Joplin Police Department. He currently serves as commander, overseeing the patrol and community relations divisions. Hounschell has put in his application for consideration for the permanent police chief position.
