Roosevelt Elementary School Officially Opens

Updated: January 7, 2009
Some Four-State students returned from spring break on Monday to find a whole new school building waiting for them. The doors of the brand new Roosevelt Elementary School were opened for the first time Monday morning. In November of 2000, the school building burned to the ground in a devastating fire. Since then, students have been attending classes at First Christian Church in Miami. Some of the new renovations to the school include larger classrooms, a second story on the building and new computers. Students say they are happy to be back at the new school. Teachers and students say the generosity of community members who donated time and money was essential in the rebuilding.
