Investigation Into Baby's Death Continues

The investigation in the death of a Four-State baby continues Tuesday. A 10-week old Joplin boy has died of 3rd degree burns after being found on a floor furnace. Officials say when the baby`s father arrived home Sunday night, he discovered the baby lying on the furnace at a home in Joplin. The mother was sleeping at the time the boy was discovered. The baby died Monday at a Springfield Hospital. Joplin police officer Carl Francis says the police department is still gathering information. Lt. Carl Francis - Joplin Police "People are being interviewed, evidence is being gathered and trying to come up with cause of how the child ended up on top of the floor furnace." Charges have not yet been filed in this case.
