Urlacher Has Knee Scoped

By: Scott Leber
Updated: August 21, 2012
Bourbonnais, Illinois-Brian Urlacher hopes that the problem causing soreness and swelling in his left knee has been taken care of. The Bears linebacker told reporters Tuesday that he had minor surgery on the knee to scope out some tissue.

Urlacher says he expects to be ready to go for the Bears regular season opener on September 9th against the Colts. He admits he'll have to limit his reps in practice probably all season, and there's a good chance he'll sit out all of the Bears preseason games. Urlacher hasn't practiced since July 31st.

Urlacher first injured the knee in the Bears regular season finale last season when he sprained medical collateral ligaments and posterior cruciate ligaments.
