Bears Edge Giants 8/24/12

New Jersey-The Bears first teamers struggled, but Jason Campbell and the backups helped them rally to beat the Giants Friday night 20-17.
The Bears fell behind 17-7 at halftime. Eli Manning led the Giants scoring drives. He finished the game completing 17 of 21 passes for 148 ayrds and one touchdow. The Bears lone score of the first half was a 15 yard scoring pass from Jay Cutler to Brandon Marshall. marchall finished the game with five receptions for 51 yards.
Cutler was 9 of 21 passing for 96 yards and the one touchdown. Matt Forte got in some more work. He carried the ball ten times for 39 yards.
Jason Campbell helped engineer the Bears comeback. He completed 12 of 19 passes for 101 yards and a big touchdown pass that went to Joe Anderson.
"We hung in there and found a way to win at the end," said Bears Coach Lovie Smith. "We got some
things accomplished. No major injuries. We wanted to see where we are against
the Super Bowl champions."
Punter Ryan Quigley looked good for the Bears. He punted the ball seven times for a 43.6 average. He's filling in for Adam Podlesh. He's out with a hip injury.
The Bears next and final preseason game will be played in Cleveland next Thursday night.
