The Chicago Bears (2-1) will wrap up their 2012 preseason
slate when they
travel to
pm CT.
The Bears will be closing out their preseason with
year. The Browns have won 17 of the 27 preseason contests
with the
Bears since the two storied clubs fi rst met in 1950. Since
the rebirth of their
franchise in 1999, the series is tied at 5-5, with the Bears
winning three of the
last four.
Several Bears starters are expected to sit out the game. The
Browns will also sit out several of their starters including quarterback
The Bears are 18-18 in preseason contests under head coach
Lovie Smith, including a .500 or better mark in seven of his nine seasons,
after
winning the last two preseason contests this year. Overall,
the Bears own an
all-time preseason mark of 227-164-8.
After the preseason, the Bears will trim their roster down
to 53 players on
Friday, August 31 and can establish an eight-man practice
squad on Saturday,
September 1.
The Bears will open the regular season at home versus the
Indianapolis Colts
on Sunday, September 9 at noon CT at Soldier Field.
