Fans were obviously disappointed with the loss to Ohio. There was the fact that it was against a team from the MAC, which isn't considered a major conference, but people we talked to say what really stings, is that after months of being down in the dumps, fans were once again let down by the football program, but this time on the field.

"...I had my head down a little bit, not going to lie..."

Penn State Senior Jonathan Kave is one of many disappointed PSU fans, wanting, but really needing a win. Not for the record, but for the good feeling.

"I wanted to win so bad today, so not winning was something that just kind of touched me, it was just kind of rough..."

Other seniors like Vincent Azar have been going to the game for years, and they can feel a difference, on and off the field.

"It's a little bit different to be honest with you, it's just like, the atmosphere is different, it's not the same as it was the past four years and we didn't look the same on the field"

Gary Groff's a different kind of Penn State senior; he was freshman in 1961. He says he's not worried about Nittany Nation getting deterred.

"We had losing seasons in the middle of the 2000's, and there were still a lot of people in those stands."

Fans young and old came out in their jerseys or specialized shirts. But hopes of a win were doused with more disappointment. The bigger picture, is that the offseason is finally over. Kave says he was more than just physically at Beaver Stadium.

"...everything today was pretty emotional, like for me at least, it was pretty emotional."

Brian Yurich, from Shamokin, PA, says that it was a reality check.

"Reality really set in today for a lot of people including myself... But you got to move forward sometime, and that time is now."

The last time Penn State their first game to a non-BCS Conference school, was in 1967. They went to the Gator Bowl that year. They won't go to any bowl game this year. Whether they win or lose.
