The Bears might be one of the few teams that were helped by the replacement refs. The temporary crews penalized the Bears a league low 11 times in three weeks.
"When I look at it, I have a lot of compassion for those refs. You
take guys like that and throw them in the fire so quickly," says receiver Brandon Marshall. "Everyone's dogging
them, but that's tough man."
Even with some favorable officiating the Bears admit they're still happy to see the old guys return.
"Getting those guys back, it's just going to clean up the game," says Jay Cutler. "Games are going
to move along. The indecision is going to go away, which I think was the biggest
thing you see across the league, just the indecisiveness."
"It's good to have those guys up there," says center Roberto Garza. "They know what's going on, they're up to speed with the game and the way things are called, with as quick as everything happens. I'm glad that got taken care of."
