Bears Adjust Expectations 11/08/12

Lake Forest, Illinos-After ranking near the bottom of the league offensively for the first half of the season the Bears finally looked like they were making strides in week nine against Tennessee.

"Total offense may not be there but what we're doing and beginning to do is special. I look at the positives. We put up 37 points, that's special," says receiver Brandon Marshall.

"We're not going to catch the defense this year. It's not going to happen," says Jay Cutler. "We're 8-9 years behind those guys, they've been in the same system for years. We just got to focus on ourselves and every guy's got to get a little bit better."

Although the Bears offense struggled early on in the season, it's started to show signs of life in recent games. It might not ever be perfect, but the Bears say they're happy with who they are on offense.

"We're the Chicago Bears and that's how we're going to win games. It's not going to look like New Orleans or Green Bay, New England Patriots, Denver Broncos. We're going to do it our way," says Marshall.

And there's still the Bears defense. It makes life a lot easier on the offense.

"It's a mixed bag of things but at the end of the day with our defense, as long as we make another teams offense go 80-90 yards, I think we're going to be okay," says Marshall.
