But another Terre Haute link will be down the street from Lucas Oil Stadium.
Indy's Slippery Noodle is one of the renowned blues venues in the country. The band, Ellusion, from Terre Haute, has played there before. But their next gig is a little different. They will be performing during super bowl weekend.
Lead singer, Tom Kelly, started Ellusion 8 years ago with his brother. Drummer Steve Ellis joined the group a few years later. There are five members normally, but a sax player will be added for the big week in Indy. The group always enjoys playing at the slippery noodle.
"This weekend will be no exception, uh, the Super Bowl being in town, I'm sure it's going to be pretty crazy but we're all really looking forward to it", says Tom.
Security is ultra tight for the group. They have a special schedule to get their equipment to The Noodle and will go through security checks to play there. The group will add some new songs for the Super Bowl going audience but it is used to having special fans.
"Last time we played there we had a guy from Scotland who sent us an e-mail afterward, I mean, people all over the world come to see us there", says Tom.
The band plays in Chicago, St. Louis, Louisville, as well as local venues, but doesn't look much past that.
"As far as going, taking it to another level, you know, I think we all have day jobs and I think we're all pretty content where we're at", says Steve Ellis.
Where they're at this weekend, at one of the best venues in the country, during the biggest party of the year is not bad at all.
