Giants, Patriots Fans Stream Into Indianapolis

Traffic is busy at Indianapolis International Airport Friday as fans of the New England Patriots and New York Giants continue streaming into town for Super Bowl XLVI.

A group of fans from Los Angeles don't have tickets to the game, but they're in the city for the experience.

"We are coming here to watch the festivities. I've never been to the Super Bowl before, so it's something we are looking forward to," said Chris Jackson.

It was easy to spot the allegiances of some fans as they got off their flights, including "Boston Bob," who flew in from Florida with an "NFL PATS" license plate around his neck.

"They call me Boston Bob, because I am from Boston, but in Florida now," Bob Myers said. "I'm a big-time Patriots fan, season ticket holder from Florida. I go up to like four games a year in Foxborough."

Myers has a tattoo of three Super Bowl trophies on his arm.

"Hopefully, I can get a fourth trophy," he said.

Giants fan Kristine Friend was a little more subtle.

"I have no New York tattoos," she said. "Go Eli! We're going to kick some butt."

Vendors with shops set up around the airport are hoping fans are in a spending mood as soon as they land. More shipments of Super Bowl gear are arriving daily.

"Tomorrow, we're looking at about 14,000 or 15,000 passengers, as opposed to a typical 10,000-passenger day," said Chris Matney, of Indianapolis International Airport.

The airport has extra employees, security, police and medics on hand.
