Chicago, Illinois-The Bears regulars played Saturday evening and it showed against the Redskins. The first-team offense shined.  Two first quarter drives engineered by Jay Cutler led to a pair of short touchdown runs by Michael Bush. Bush carried the ball five times for 21 yards.

Cutler hooked up with Alshon Jeffery and Brandon Marshall for big pass plays exciting the crowd. Jeffery had three receptions for 62 yards. Marshall had two receptions for 61 yards.

Marshall was impressed by the offense's production. "The most exciting part tonight was seeing the other guys. It's not just Jay Cutler. It's not just Matt Forte or Brandon Marshall or Devin Hester. It's everybody making plays, and it's going to be tough for defenses to game plan against that," said Marshall.

Cutler finished the night completing 7 of 13 passes for 122 yards before taking a spot on the sideline.

"We've got a few new pieces out there Brandon (Marshall) and (Michael) Bush, other guys," said Cutler. "There was a lot more intensity. I thought the sense of urgency with our guys was a lot greater this game. We came out with a purpose and a little bit more of an attitude up front."

Matt Forte ran hard in his first preseason action although he was limited to four carries. He gained 16 yards.

Robbie Gould had a busy night. He booted four fields goals including a 57 yarder which turned out to be the difference in the final score.

Backup quarterback Jason Campbell was solid. He was 9 of 15 for 141 yards.

The Bears next preseason game will be Friday, August 24th against the Giants.
