Bears Sign Okoye 9/3/12

LAKE FOREST, IL - The Chicago Bears signed DT Amobi Okoye to a one-year contract and waived DT Brian Price Monday.

Okoye has started 59 of 78 games played in five seasons with the Houston Texans (2007-10) and the Bears (2011), recording 165 tackles, 15 sacks, six pass break ups, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries. Last season for Chicago, the 6-2, 292-pound defensive tackle had 27 tackles, four sacks and two tackles for losses in 16 contests with one start.

Price started 14 of 20 contests played in two seasons for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, recording 27 tackles (23 solo) and three sacks.
