Offense Could Carry Bears

"In past years it's been defense first and for good reason," said Cutler. "They (the Bears) were really good at it and won games. I think with Phil coming in he made an emphaiss to help out with the offense and get some guys to help us be successful."
"We've got some guys that can play football on the outside," said Cutler. "It's going to hopefully make my job easier just being able to throw the ball and let them (the receivers) work. Up front I think the guys know there's some pressure on them because Matt Forte can run if we give him holes. If I get these guys the ball on the outside, and we hold up and have time we can make some big plays."
Everyone knows that the NFL has become a passing league. The Bears feel like they're finally ready to join the party.
"Teams are passing more. There's no doubt about it," said Cutler. "With the bigger receivers and bigger tightends the guys that can run and catch and are 6'6 and 6'3 and above it's hard on defenses."
Cutler says he did develop a comfort level with this offense during the preseason. Now they just have to go out and execute on Sunday against the Colts.
