Cowboys To Sign Punter Moorman Soon

By: David Robinett
Updated: September 26, 2012
The Dallas Cowboys are happy with the production from punter Chris Jones this year, but he's not exactly healthy. That said, Dallas is going to sign former Buffalo Bills punter Brian Moorman.

Moorman was just released by the Bills this week, and he is expected to sign with Dallas on Thursday.

Jones almost had a punt blocked by the Buccaneers on Sunday in Arlington, and he injured his leg on the play. DallasCowboys.com says it is unclear as to how long Jones will be sidelined.

Moorman punted for the Bills since 2001 and is a 2-time Pro Bowler. Before he was released, Moorman was averaging 45.5 yards per punt this year. He has already passed his physical and was punting Cowboys Stadium on Wednesday.

The Cowboys continue the 2012 season on Monday at Cowboys Stadium against the Bears.
