In Theory: Cut Down On Turnovers-Collect Wins

By: Alyssa Orange
Updated: October 10, 2012

The Dallas Cowboys can solves most of their problems with one simple solution.

Ball Control. Cut down on turnovers. Hold on to the Football.

Whichever way you put it, the message speaks loud and clear. Over the past 4 games the Cowboys have turned over the ball 11 times.

On the flip side of that, the defense hasn't been able to make up the slack and create turnovers. The defense has only been able to come away with 4 total turnovers this season. This leaves the Cowboys with a -7 turnover ratio, and tied for Philadelphia for the 30th in the NFL.

Since most Cowboys fans don't want to be tied with the Eagles for anything, there is an easy solution. Hold on to the ball.

Last year the Cowboys were 4-1 when they had a positive turnover ratio. They were 0-3 when they lost the turnover battle.
