"We'd like to be 5-0, but we're not, so we've just got to continue each and every day of not getting ahead of ourselves and taking it one game at a time," says Jay Cutler.
"There are a lot of errors we need to improve on both sides, all three phases of the game," says Lovie Smith.
Now is when things get serious for the Bars. They have five games coming up against divisional opponents starting with the Lions game Monday night.
"We have a big stretch coming here," says center Roberto Garza. "We know we have to get ready for 11 games, but I think coach Tice has done a great job of focusing on things we need to get better at and continuing the things we are doing well."
"I only look at how we're improving,' says Tice. "I don't worry about up and down. I kind of take the first part and see if we're getting better each week. I think we're getting better, and that's really what I look at."
Keep in mind that the Bears started 7-3 last season before injuries to Jay Cutler and Matt Forte caused the wheels to fall off and they missed the playoffs. They know the real work starts now.
