There are hundreds of wedding-related apps and there are more to come this year.

A couple of good ones that can help you plan the big day are:

  • Wedding Plandroid
  • iWedding Deluxe

These apps let you use your smartphone or tablet to do things like manage the budget, track progress, keep track of vendors and manage the guest list.

Mobile photo sharing is a popular trend and it's a great idea for weddings.

Brides and grooms could consider setting up a custom hashtag for their wedding for Twitter and Instagram posts (like #JONESWEDDING).

But better yet, you can utilize a group photo sharing app like Wedding Snap.

This app lets you instantly collect all the candid guest photos and videos in an online album for the newlyweds:  think of it as a 21st century disposable camera.

And through the continuous guest uploads, anyone who can't make it can watch the special events unfold in real time through the Wedding Snap app.

You can also show a real-time slideshow during the reception.

And finally, you can keep tabs on the groom's heart rate during the ceremony with the Scosche RHYTHM Wireless Heart Rate Monitor ($79) with chest strap from AT&T. Using Bluetooth technology, someone can monitor the groom's heart rate with their smartphone and be ready to swing into action if he's about to pass out.
