At the State Capitol Lawmakers pass two bills out of committee limiting abortions

The bill that failed to pass earlier this week strikes abortion coverage from the state healthcare exchange.

The other bill put a ban on abortions after 20 weeks.

It is called the Pain Capable Unborn Child Protection Act.

Representative Andy Mayberry and his wife Julie sponsored and presented the exact same bill two years ago.

Mayberry says a fetus can feel pain at 20 weeks and is entitled to state protection.

The 20 week ban on abortions and the bill striking abortion coverage from state insurance exchanges both passed on a voice vote.

The first step in becoming law.
