AMARILLO -- An economist and Fox News Commentator made a stop in Amarillo today.
Fritz Meyer gave us his opinion about the state of the economy.
It's something he knows a lot about, he worked as an Invesco Markets Analyist for the past 15 years
He spoke with us about why the economy is going to continue to be a hot-ticket issue for this election.
Meyer said, "Politics can shake the market up in a short term, but I'm actually optimistic that under the next administration we'll make some progress in this regard. If and when that happens stocks would probably react favorably from a pretty depressed level at present."

Meyer added that consumers are spending smarter because of the down economy, but they're not saving more.
Which is something he says everyone should do more of.
