Fairview Township, Luzerne County-Bundled up and ready to let their voices be heard, we found long lines of people waiting to cast their ballots near Mountain Top.
They say the cold weather is no excuse.
There was a steady line of people filing into the Mountain Top Hose company building taking time out to place their votes in a tightly contested presidential election that also features a number of high-profile state races.
Here in Luzerne County as well, the presidential race was tops on most people's minds.
We're told the line began growing from the moment the polls opened at 7 a-m, with no signs of slowing down.
Charles Fine, of Mountain Top, brought along his three-year-old daughter, carlee, to impress upon her the importance of voting.
"We just thought it would be interesting for her. She could see how the process worked a little bit, and get an early start."
"I think it's going to go as smoothly as possible. I think people are going to show up. It's really important and everybody's concerned about it."
Little Carlee told Eyewitness News she definitely plans to vote as soon as she's old enough.
Dad Charles says he was pleasantly surprised by the number of people who joined him in casting their ballots this morning.
